Gravity & Other Myths, 27 June in Wiltz.
It may be National Day this weekend, but that doesn't mean that Luxembourg's cultural offer is any less vibrant than usual.
Servais prize for Nico Helminger
The Servais Prize for Literature will be awarded during a ceremony on Sunday at 11am in Mersch's literature centre. The recipient is Nico Helminger, who previously won the Servais prize in 2014 with the poetry anthology Abrasch. Helminger beats his brother Guy, who has also won a Servais prize.
Helminger was awarded the prize this year for his book Kleng Chronik vum Menn Malkowitsch sengen Deeg an der Loge. The book's long title reflects its size as it's quite a hefty novel.

If you can't make the ceremony, then the book is available to read, provided you speak Luxembourgish and have time on your hands.
Eugenie Anselin's WOW
Eugénie Anselin, introducing herself in the above video in four languages, is the quintessential Luxembourgish polyglot. With French origins, she grew up in Germany and Luxembourg and speaks English as well. Anselin had the ambitions of becoming an actress from a young age and did not limit herself to the works of others. She wrote and starred in her first one-woman-show at the age of 16 and is now i presenting a new one. WOW, her newest show, will be performed at the Kasematten theatre in German and then in the Theatre Ouvert Luxembourg (TOL) in French. The show premieres on Tuesday.
Michel Medinger's photo exhibition in Dudelange
Medinger is one of the few photographers in Luxembourg who still works in a darkroom and uses traditional methods for his photography. His entire work is on show at the National Audiovisual Centre (CNA) in Dudelange, including his early work and his morbid but ironic photographs of dried plants or old working instruments in the Nature-mortes series.
The exhibition will run until 16 December.
Wiltz Festival
The Wiltz festival will begin on next Wednesday. Its format changed slightly last year, following a change in organisation. The festival is now hosted by a non-profit organisation as well as in co-operation with organisations such as the Prabbeli cultural centre. The festival's programme is meant as a type of crossover of styles, international names and local artists. This year, the festival is offering jazz, world music, children's theatre, opera, as well as fusions of neo-classic music, jazz and electronic music featuring Francesco Tristano.
The inaugural show is the Australian acrobats' Gravity & Other Myths.
