If you need a cultural dose for the rest of this week, read on.

The "black house" project

Artist Joël Rollinger used a house in Lorentzweiler last year as an exhibition space for Luxembourg-based artists, painting the inside and outside completely white. Now, on the other end of the colour spectrum, Rollinger has gone for a "black house" in Luxembourg City. As the name suggests, the space is painted entirely black on the outside. The inside, on the other hand, features a range colours.

Rollinger has organised the space by colour.  35 different locations around the house have been covered, from walls and floors to windows, according to different colour themes. 50 artists participated in Rollinger's project.

The "black house" opened on 1 June and will be open until 1 July.

Fundamental Monodrama Festival, 8-17 June

The Fundamental Monodrama Festival focuses on monologues. There will be 15 performances over the 10 day festival. This is the 9th edition of the festival and will include multidisciplinary performances that push the boundaries between theatre, dance, poetry, and music. The festival launches on Friday evening with the play "A Lithualien in the Land of Bananas". As hinted at by the title, this performance will take place in the Banannefabrik on rue de Puits in Bonnevoie.

"Your very own double crisis club" in the Kasemattentheatre

The title of the play, performed in German, is "Your very own double crisis club". Désirée Nosbusch an André Mergenthaler will be performing the main roles in this play written by the Israeli playwright Sivan Ben Yishai. The play was written to have neither characters nor dialogue. The themes of the play are the experience of violence and the loss of a homeland.

The play will be interactive and consist of a dialogue between the audience and the actors.
