Hariko opened in September 2015 in Bonnevoie. The cultural centre provides a forum for exchange and creation between artists and young people aged 12-26.

The project is managed by the Red Cross and risks being closed down towards the end of September, because the building which hosts Hariko's activities might not no longer be available.

Hariko is looking for a new facility to set up shop and the project would love to be able to stay in the vicinity of the "Quartier de la Gare', Luxembourg City's railway station neighbourhood. However, according to Luxembourg City mayor Lydie Polfer, suitable buildings in the city are few and far between.

The city of Esch-sur-Alzette has made it known that they would be interested in continuing the Hariko project in their municipality. The old court of justice at Brillplatz could become Hariko's new home. The city of Ettelbruck has also expressed its interest.

In the long run, the Red Cross is planning to open three Hariko projects throughout the country: one in the north, one in the south and one in the centre of Luxembourg.

The ministry of education has declared that it would be prepared to support the programme financially.
