If you don't have plans this Sunday you might want to head south to the "Minett Park Fonds-de-Gras" (Rumelange) for the John Cockerill's Day.
Named after British-Belgian manufacturer John Cockerill, the locomotive ‘Cockerill 503’ forms part of the vast collection owned by the Train 1900 association. In honour of this elegant vintage locomotive, the Fond-de-Gras will be immersed in an anglo-saxon inspired vibe this Sunday, 20 May.
A promising event awaits visitors of the John Cockerill at Fond-de-Gras, which can be reached by the ‘Train 1900’ departing from rue de Niederkorn in Petange. Free parking on site.
In addition to the running of the elegant Cockerill locomotive, the railway hall will host several stalls featuring:
- Clothing from ‘Basics & Bespoke’
- Luxembourg Cask Selection’s Whisky
- English language books from ‘Librairie Ernster’
- Cigars from ‘El Aficionado’
- as well as British and Irish products from expat shop ‘Home from Home’
Afternoon tea and refreshments will be offered at the buffet located in the train station.
And the ‘Last Order’ band will play Irish music.
Two authentic English vehicles, a London taxi and a "Routemaster" double-decker bus will be exhibited on the site.
The event is organised as part of the ‘Luxembourg Museum Days: Hop Hop an de Musée’ with the support of the British and Irish Embassies.
