The 2018 International Contemporary Printmaking/Forum at the Carré site in Hollerich has recently opened.

The exhibition will run from 19 April to 1 May 2018, organised by the EMPREINTE engraving workshop in collaboration with the CEPA centre for art promotion.

EMPREINTE has brought together 17 representatives—art professionals, institutions, workshops, collectives—of classical and contemporary printmaking under a single roof. The purpose is to provide "An introduction to the impressive variety of captivating printmaking techniques, themes, ways of expression, art works and visions."

The exhibition shows of more than 700 original prints made by 200 artists. It illustrates the diversity of artistic expression and demonstrates the constant renewal of engraving in the digital age.

The exhibition also provides documentation in the form of a richly-illustrated catalogue with text and photos paying homage to the role of the workshop in the preservation, exploration and distribution of original printmaking.
