The issue came to light after a bailiff’s notice appeared on social media on Tuesday, stating that the club was being forced to auction off various items at its ‘Holleschbierg’ training ground. However, according to a post published on Facebook, the sale was ultimately called off.
The bailiff confirmed on Wednesday that the forced liquidation would not go ahead. Club president Fernand Laroche had already indicated in an RTL interview on Tuesday that Swift intended to resolve the matter immediately.
The club, currently sitting in ninth place in the BGL Ligue (Luxembourg’s premier division) has been facing financial difficulties for some time. In recent months and years, several players have submitted complaints to FIFA over unpaid wages. This has contributed to a transfer ban, which remains in place.
