Luxembourg international basketball player Ehis Etute will take part in the famous March Madness tournament in the United States with the Oregon Ducks women’s basketball.
The tournament, the biggest event in American college basketball, brings together the 68 strongest teams in the country. Each game is effectively a final, as only the winner of each round advances to the next stage. The Oregon Ducks finished the season with 22 wins and 12 losses.
Over the course of the season, Etute has increasingly proven her value to the team, averaging 12.6 points and 8.9 rebounds per game. With several particularly strong performances, the Luxembourg international has also attracted attention in the media.
The March Madness tournament now gives Etute the opportunity to showcase her abilities on one of the biggest stages in college basketball. Oregon will face Virginia Tech Hokies women’s basketball on 20 March.
Another Luxembourg player will also take part in March Madness. Isa Hämäläinen has been playing for the Colorado Buffaloes women’s basketball since the start of this season, although she has seen limited playing time so far. Colorado will face Illinois Fighting Illini women’s basketball in the first round.
