On Sunday, Etzella Ettelbruck beat Sparta Bertrange 87:81 on home court, winning the best-of-five series 3:0. It is the club's 17th men’s championship title.

In the first quarter, five players on each side had already scored, with plenty of shots falling in a fast-paced game. Driven by Billy McDaniel's impact, the home side managed to build a small lead after 10 minutes, ending the quarter 27:23 ahead.

In the second quarter, shooting percentages dipped slightly on both sides. Ettelbruck scored the final six points before half-time and went into the break with a 45:39 lead.

After the change of ends, Sparta cut the deficit to 50:51. Bertrange then lost its rhythm, however, and Etzella took advantage. A buzzer-beater from Adrian Delph gave the home side a 64:54 lead going into the final quarter.

Sparta showed strong character in the fourth quarter and fought their way back into the game, with the contest decided in the final minutes. With two minutes remaining, the score was tied at 78:78. Thomas Henkel then hit two three-pointers in the decisive phase, allowing the home crowd to celebrate.

Billy McDaniel scored 21 points for Etzella, while Adrian Delph and Nicholas Davis added 20 each.
