The 24th edition of the annual touch competition, first organised in 2001, took place on Sunday raising over €2000 for the Omega 90 hospice in Luxembourg.

16 teams took to the field in a lively touch rugby tournament, split into two pools – one for adults and another for families – offering a day of sport and enjoyment for players of all ages and abilities. Touch rugby is one of the most inclusive sports that exists, with mixed-gender teams of six competing together.

Music was blasting, Mettwurschts were sizzling, and touch rugby was flowing as teams competed in a friendly environment. The Luxembourgish rugby union was well represented through the recently formed Rugby Club Esch and Rugby Club Terre Rouges, showing that the sport is growing in the Grand Duchy.

Eventual winners were Rugby Club Terre Rouges, it was great to see the many smiling faces and the true winners of the competition were the Omega 90 hospice.

A participant reflected: "A fantastic day for community sport, families playing together, I really enjoyed it. Congratulations to the organisers for organising it all." While one of the organisers Joe Lister expressed his delight at the success of the day, "no matter if you're into the sport, or not. It's all about turning up, having fun and meeting people. Luxembourg is a multicultural, fun environment and days like today are about taking advantage of that and making a difference while doing so."
