This weekend marks the start of the championship in the top division of national football and in addition to the live ticker, matches will once again be streamed.
RTL Luxembourg, the Luxembourg Football Federation (FLF) and the Luxembourg Football League have agreed to continue their collaboration to broadcast the BGL Ligue and the Éierepromotioun live. The agreement runs until the end of the 2028/2029 season and aims to strengthen the presence of national football.
"We are pleased to have reached an agreement with the Luxembourg Football Federation and the Luxembourg Football League for the next four years, through which we will fully show the two highest divisions of national football," said Christophe Goossens, CEO of RTL Luxembourg
From August, each season will feature more than 480 live matches, including a selection from the Coupe de Luxembourg. The aim is to provide Luxembourg football with a platform accessible to everyone – in the Grand Duchy and abroad.
"We will also show Coupe matches from the round of 16 onwards, where cameras are on the pitches," Goossens explained. "Brand new is now every weekend the 'Match-Phare', produced with multi-camera and shown with Luxembourgish commentary. That's 30 matches from the BGL Ligue and 4 from the Éierepromotioun."
All matches will be available live or on replay via RTL.lu and the RTL Play app (iOS, Android, Smart TV) 24/7. In the Live Arena section, viewers can select different matches – or watch multiple games at the same time with the multi-stream feature. Highlights will also be shared directly on social media to bring the excitement to fans everywhere.
"Sport is a very important part of our programmes," Goossens added. "In 2024, we broadcast almost 500 hours of sport on television alone – ten times more than what was set out in the convention with the state. In addition, our RTL Live Arena allows us to use streaming cameras to show Luxembourgish basketball, handball, volleyball and now, once again, Luxembourgish football."
As always, results will be available on RTL.lu, and BGL Ligue matches will be covered in the live ticker.
