Luxembourg sprinter Patrizia van der Weken shattered the national record with an 11-second finish in the 100m semi-final at the European Athletics Championships in Rome, securing her a spot in the final on Sunday evening.
Patrizia van der Weken on Sunday evening competed in the third 100m semi final at the 26th European Athletics Championships in Rome. The Luxembourg athlete finished the race in eleven seconds, which not only earned her the top spot and a place in the final, but also a new Luxembourg record.
Van der Weken placed fourth in the final, while Britain's Dina Asher-Smith claimed her second European 100m title in Rome on Sunday.
