On Sunday, Luxembourg's Dylan Pereira secured the top spot on the podium at the first Porsche Supercup race of the season in Imola, Italy.
Dylan Pereira, who drives for BWT Lechner Racing, recorded the fastest lap during the qualifying rounds, which allowed him to start the Sunday race from the pole position. Despite challenging weather conditions, he remained in control and thus crossed the finish line ahead of Larry Ten Voorde (Team GP Elite) and teammate Harry King.
The race began with a safety-car start due to heavy rain. After drivers completed three of the 14 laps, the competition then really took off and Pereira defended his lead. After eight laps, the safety car was deployed once more following an accident by Leonardo Caglioni. After the track was free again, Pereira held on to his lead for the remainder of the race to secure the top spot on the podium.
The next race of the Porsche Supercup will take place in Monte Carlo on 29 May.
