The majority of the teams still have something to play for in the last six matches, but some of the big questions of the season are already being answered. We will go through all the worthiest talking points from last weekend below.

Ettelbrück win relegation six-pointer

The threat of dropping divisions have loomed large over Etzella Ettelbrück over the entire season, but their unlikely survival run was boosted tremendously by their 1-0 win against Hostert. Etzella have the third leakiest defence in the league, having conceded 59 times already, but they weathered the storm to get only their fourth clean sheet all season! Hostert’s attacking play clearly prioritised quantity over quality, as they are in for some major nail-biting until the end of the season.

Dudelange whisk away any possibility of a title race

When the final whistle was blown in Pétange, Progrés Niedercorn’s players knew that the 0-0 they had just achieved was not going to be enough to provide any serious threat on Dudelange’s title chances. F91 themselves, meanwhile, were thumping Rosport into the ground with a 0-5 win away from home and an all-round brilliant performance. After Dejvid Sinani’s rapid-fire double, Samir Hadji scored his team’s third on the day. Mohcine Hassan’s wonderful back-heel goal was the first in the second half, but the cherry on top proved to be Kévin van den Kerkhof’s penalty.

Hamm Benfica relegated...

...and their performances have been just as blunt and dull as the title above. They scored 7 fewer goals and conceded 18 more than anyone else in the division. Their record so far is a 1-0 win against Rosport, a 1-1 draw against Rodange, besides 22 losses. On Sunday, Strassen found it hard to break Hamm’s defensive shape, having gone down to 10 men after 34 minutes, but they did open the floodgates for the end: the match ended 4-0, with Strassen scoring twice in two minutes shortly before the end.
