Mandy Minella in the second round for the first time

This is the 17th time for Mandy Minella at the WTA tennis tournament on Kockelscheuer, and the first time she has made it to the second round, beating the Russian Varvara Gravecha 6:3 and 6:4 in two sets.

Mandy Minella is currently 233rd in the world ranking and Gravecha 77th. It was an emotional victory for the 35 year old on familiar grounds.
"Yes, it is unbelievable, it feels great to have this victory in hand, before a local audience."

Minella will face Alizé Cornet on Wednesday, who is 72nd. The match will take place at 3.30pm at the earliest and will be streamed live on RTL.lu.
