It was amateur golf at its best at a beautiful golf course in the Grand Duchy this weekend.

79 amateur players from Belgium, France, Germany, Netherlands and Luxembourg were in for a nice treat at this state of the art golf course, The Golf de Luxembourg in Bellenhaff.

They were challenged for 3 days and over 54 holes between rain, cold and sun.

First place in the 75th INTAM for men came for Tom Westenberger  from Germany. He set the tone of the tournament with a new record for the golf course at 65 (-8) during the first day to end at -12 after the three days of competition.

He was followed by Jorden Bing Jurriens  (-3) and Bob Van der Voort (-2) in second and third place, both hailing from the Netherlands.

To the delight of golf fans from Luxembourg, 10 out of 27 men including three juniors coming from the Grand Duchy made the cut to the final day.

For the 64th INTAM in the ladies discipline Greta Rietdorf from Germany took first place at +11 after 54 holes. She was followed by Dutch compatriots Sophie Charlott Hempel in 2nd at +13 and Judith Van der Voort in third at +20.

Luxembourg performed well, with three ladies in the competition on the final day, including one junior.

The quality of the sport in Luxembourg among young and junior players continues to improve - and impress.
