After five years with Quick-Step, Bob Jungels made the switch to French team AG2R-Citroën during the winter break, thus joining Luxembourgish rider Ben Gastauer.

The team is currently in a training camp at the Spanish Costa Blanca. With car maker Citroën as a new financial sponsor, a fresh era is set to begin in 2021.

After nine years, French rider Romain Bardet has left the team, and eleven new athletes are now joining the ranks of AG2R, including Olympian gold medalist Greg Van Avermaet from Belgium and Bob Jungels from Luxembourg.

Last season, the French team was only able to secure five victories, which is supposed to be improved in the new year with a group of 30 riders. After their training camps initially scheduled for November and December had to be cancelled due to the pandemic, the team has been in Denia in Spain to prepare for the challenges ahead. For Bob Jungels, this is not only a chance to get back into shape, but also to learn more about his new teammates.

Naturally, Jungels is already well-acquainted with 33-year-old Ben Gastauer, who is now entering his 12th season for the team lead by Vincent Lavenu.

An exciting season now awaits both Luxembourgish cyclists.
