Saturday saw RCL's "Lux Qualified -LQ" face off against RCL's "Rest of the World - ROW" in cold and blustery conditions.

Some early pressure from ROW led to them being camped out for a concerted amounted of pressure in the Luxembourg Qualified 22.

A wayward kick was recovered by LQ wing Maxim Kenens who streaked away downfield to put fellow Luxembourg international Hugo Bertani, over for the first score of the match.

The try was converted and the score stood at 7-0.

After a lack of discipline from LQ, the rest of the world found themselves back in the opposition 22.

Some solid scrummaging saw a great burst from James "The Jet" Wheeler bumping defenders out of the way and it looked like a certain ROW try until they were dragged into touch by Hugo Bertani.

ROW then remained camped in the Lux 22 until outside centre Ntsolo relieved pressure with a perfectly judged kick to touch.

The balance shifted when the ROW found themselves defending another LQ attack and Bertani again found some space, slicing through the line and putting Ntsolo in for their second try which was not converted.

ROW found themselves on the attack with a powerful rolling maul 5 metres away from the LQ try line only for referee (and club president) Paolo to rule that an infraction occurred.

At halftime the score stood at 12-0 and either side could take the spoils.

The second half saw the Lux men take control with a breakaway try from Maxim Kenans extending the score to 19-0 after the conversion from outside half Lachaise.

Some great passages of play from both sides kept the ball alive and had the crowd cheering and entertained. Some huge tackles from Wheeler saw LQ turn the ball over a couple of times but the scramble defence was strong and denied ROW several times with try saving tackles.

Kenens ran in his second try to increase the score to 25-0, soon followed by number 10 Baptiste Lachaise.

Luxembourg hero and veteran Nigel "Ostrich" Sharplin crossed the line to add an extra 5 points, converted by Ntsolo to end the game 32-0.

A great outing for RCL as a club as they prepare for the regional league in October.

The clash represented the first in series of domestic challenge matches sponsored by Wildgen Lawyers.
