Match summary

The match got off to a hectic start as both teams pushed their defence high up the field, each attempting to put the other under pressure from the outset. Luxembourg opened the scoring in the eighth minute, with Martins scoring his third for the national team.

It wasn’t long until Turkey equalised, as Maxime Chanot gave away a penalty, which was easily converted by Ünder in the 16th minute.

Shortly before the break, Luxembourg went ahead after a wonderful set-up by Yvandro Borges from midfield, with Danel Sinani putting the visitors at 2-1. But the lead did not last, with Chanot once again giving Turkey an advantage after putting the ball in his own net.

The second half was quieter, with Turkey showing more possession, and Luxembourg goalie Anthony Moris was forced to make a series of saves before Lars Gerson cleared the ball off the line.

However, it was Luxembourg who next found the target, with Gerson Rodrigues making it 3-2 in the 69th minute. For a while, it seemed as though the Red Lions would depart victorious - alas, it was not meant to be. Yüksek clawed one back for the home side with a long-distance shot into the top corner, and thus ending the match at 3-3.
