In the presence of sports minister Martine Hansen, Luxembourg’s Paralympic Committee presented its selection of athletes on Thursday evening. Seventeen athletes from eight disciplines have been selected to represent Luxembourg, across three different squads.

The elite squad includes Steve Nothum for para trap shooting and Matteo Scuto for para table tennis. Both athletes performed well on the international level last year.

The promotion squad includes athletes who have drawn attention for their achievements over the last few years and who are on the verge of joining the elite squad. Among these are Katrin Kohl and Massimo Saputo in athletics, Phillippe Hein in para table tennis, Liz Conzemius and Nicolas Berot in blind tennis, Joe Schmit in para climbing and Roberto Lomba in para judo.

In the third category, the federal squad, are athletes working their way up, such as Ashis Ramsurrup in athletics, Roby Mangen in table tennis, Sandra Schwinninger in swimming, and Amsal Redzepovic, Paul Kremer, Carlos Neves and Andreia Bray in para cycling. The youngest athlete is 14-year-old Caecilia Riedl in para judo.
