Majerus hoped to prolong her good form and defend the position of leader in the fifth, and last, stage of the Boels Ladies Tour in the Netherlands. The last day of the race consisted of a 155 kilometre stretch, from Nijmegen to Arnheim.
The final stage culminated in a mass sprint for the title, as Chiara Consonni took on her competitors Lorena Wiebes and Lucinda Brand to come first, but Christine Majerus grabbed 10th place with the same time as the other nine racers, thus securing her overall victory.
This is Majerus’ first win in the World Tour.
