Liverpool striker Diogo Jota has died at 28 after he and his brother were killed in a car crash in Spain's Zamora province.

Liverpool forward Diogo Jota has died at the age of 28 following a fatal car accident in Spain on Wednesday night. The news broke on Thursday morning that the Portuguese footballer and his 26-year-old brother were both killed in the crash, which occurred in the province of Zamora.

Media reports say the Lamborghini came off the road after a tyre blow out while overtaking another car, with the luxury vehicle catching fire after the crash.

Jota, who had only married less than two weeks ago, was widely regarded as one of Liverpool’s key attacking players.
