On Sunday the UEFA Euro 2024 qualifying draw was announced. Luxembourg's group includes the tournament's 2016 winners, Portugal.

Also in Group J are Bosnia and Herzegovina, Iceland, Slovakia and Liechtenstein.

When Luxembourg faced Portugal in Lisbon for the World Cup qualifiers in 2021, they lost 5-0.

Despite the presence of Portugal, the draw looks favourable enough for the Red Lions.

In March, the Grand Duchy's men's team took on Bosnia and Herzegovina in a friendly, losing narrowly 1-0.

Meanwhile, tiny Liechtenstein has a lower FIFA world ranking than Luxembourg, while Slovakia has only twice qualified for the Euros (2016 and 2020) and Iceland only once - in 2016.

Will this be Luxembourg's time to qualify?
