Eifel Grand Prix20,000 spectators permitted to view October race at Nürburgring

RTL Today
Race organisers have been given permission to allow 20,000 fans into the Nürburgring race track next month.

The event, which will take place on 11 October, has been given the green light by local authorities to accommodate fans with the help of stringent safety measures that will include masks, social distancing and contactless ticketing. The Ahrweiler district administration announced the news on Monday.

Tickets will be available online and will allow precise contact tracing.

For some time it seemed as though Germany would not host a Grand Prix this year due to the pandemic; however, as organisers failed to reach an agreement with the Hockenheim track, the Nürburgring was finally confirmed. This means German Ferrari driver Sebastian Vettel will race on his home turf in his final year at Scuderia.
