Formula Three racer Alex Peroni miraculously walked away from a horrifying crash at Monza in the Italian Grand Prix. Alex Peroni was sent spiraling airborne into fencing during the F3 race.
He was unhurt, but one week on from the death of French driver Anthoine Hubert after a Formula Two race crash at the Belgian Grand Prix it was another shocking image for the sport.
Peroni was able to exit his car by himself and walk away. His team said he appeared to be unhurt but that he would go to the hospital for a medical check-up.
Safety in the support series to Formula One is under increased scrutiny after last week’s events.
