Between preserved nature, a millennia-old history, and living traditions, Luxembourg reveals a richness that many visitors come to explore every year. To make these discoveries truly meaningful, passionate individuals are needed — those who share, with enthusiasm, its history, culture, and natural heritage.

Every encounter, every guided tour, every story told contributes to highlighting this unique Luxembourgish identity. Becoming a tourist guide means taking part in this mission: to welcome, inspire, and share Luxembourg’s rich heritage with visitors from around the globe.

The basic training course for tourist guides, organised by the House of Training in collaboration with the Ministry of Economy, is designed to meet the demands of this activity. The 25-hour programme is divided into two complementary parts.

The first part, conducted online, provides the essential foundations for understanding Luxembourg in all its dimensions: its geology and the richness of its landscapes, its cultural, artistic, and architectural heritage, as well as the key stages of its history and economic development.

The second part, conducted in person, focuses on practical experience and interaction. Participants meet the main actors from Luxembourg’s tourism sector, discover the institutions and values that shape the destination, and develop the skills needed to welcome and communicate effectively with their groups. This part also includes awareness of accessible tourism and a module dedicated to promoting an authentic image of Luxembourg, beyond stereotypes.

Offered at a price of 150 €, the training is available in French, English, and German/Luxembourgish. Take this first step towards becoming a tour guide, then continue your journey with regional and specialised training programmes.
