lifelong-learning.lu: a key portal for finding your training course

To support individuals and business on their training path, the national portal for lifelong learning, managed by the INFPC, is an essential tool.

lifelong-learning.lu presents over 12 500 training courses offered by 320 member training providers. They are divided into various training areas such as Languages, IT, Finance or Personal and professional development.

Thanks to the search engine and specific filters in respect of the course’s venue, duration, level sought, language or even the schedule, anyone can find the training course that best suits their needs.

The portal also groups together all the relevant information for organising your training, finding out about the support available and moving forward with your plans and your career.

Training support

To follow training courses within your field of expertise or to acquire the skills that employers are looking for, training support can help individuals to develop their professional career.

Training support measures, available under certain conditions, come in various forms:

• Special leave such as individual training leave which allows you free time to attend individual training courses. This additional paid leave can be granted for up to 80 days over the course of a professional career.
• Your working hours can be organised to allow time for training. There are two schemes that enable individuals to balance their work and training times: personal working time arrangement and unpaid training leave.
• Specific financial support such as tax relief or State financial aid for higher education courses.

In partnership with the Ministry of Education, Children and Youth and the professional chambers, the INFPC is organising information sessions focusing on training support for individuals.

The next information sessions will take place on:

• Monday, 13 October 2025, in French (6.00 p.m. to 7.00 p.m.)
• Monday, 20 October 2025, in Luxembourgish (6.00 p.m. to 7.00 p.m.)

They are organised face-to-face and broadcast simultaneously via livestream. Participation is free of charge, but registration is mandatory at www.infpc.lu/inscription-aides.

Having one’s experience validated thanks to VAE

The validation of non-formal and informal learning (Validation des acquis de l’expérience - VAE) offers everyone, independent of their age, level of education or professional status, the possibility to have their experience validated. This system makes it possible to obtain qualification, to facilitate access to a training path or to receive exemption from certain modules of a programme of studies. One of the essential conditions is to be able to prove you have at least three years’ experience in a field that is directly related to the qualification sought.

VAE can be applied for in respect of the following qualifications:

• the CCP, the DAP, the DT as well as the General Secondary School Leaving Diploma, and Master Craftsmanship qualification;
• the BTS, but only as regards access to studies or exemptions;
• Master’s and bachelor’s degrees at the University of Luxembourg, but only as regards access to studies, obtaining credit transfers or exemptions

VAE constitutes an additional means of accessing diplomas. It involves real personal commitment through the compilation of a complete file. The steps to be taken and the competent body vary according to the qualification sought.
