The record follows his previous mini-album released in early 2024 and marks a new chapter for the producer, bringing together a wider network of collaborators and a broader sonic palette.

“This one has really been about collaborations,” Evans explained during the interview. “I worked with a lot of different people on it. The Night FM, SB77, Morfas and Lore as well. On the mixing side I also worked with different sound engineers. It’s been about learning, experimenting and getting to work with other people.”

Much of Timelord’s music blends atmospheric electronic textures with cinematic sound design, often drawing inspiration from visual worlds and landscapes. Evans said that even though many tracks on 4RENT are instrumental, they still carry personal meaning.

“Every track is very personal. I know every note and every sound that’s been created is there for a reason. There are a lot of soundscapes in there as well. When it was time to bring the album together as one whole entity, I started thinking about the world around it and that’s also how the artwork was created.”

The album also features several guest vocal collaborations, something Evans enjoys integrating into his production process.

“I try to figure out what the track is trying to say. Some of them just need vocals. I really like chopping things up as well. We write lyrics and then we cut them up and suddenly they mean something completely different.”

Release show at De Gudde Wëllen

To celebrate the release of 4RENT, Timelord will host a special release show in Luxembourg featuring the artists who collaborated on the album. The event will take place at De Gudde Wëllen, with doors opening at 19:30 and the show beginning at 20:00.

Rather than DJ sets, the evening will feature live electronic performances from the artists involved in the record.

“All the guests who are on the album will be there,” Evans said. “We’ll be doing live electronic sets, about 45 minutes each. It’s not DJing, we’re really performing our own music and reinterpreting it live.”

The show will run until roughly 23:00 or 23:30 and promises an evening of immersive electronic music from across Luxembourg’s growing electronic scene.

A limited vinyl release

Alongside the digital release, Evans has also produced a limited white vinyl pressing of the album, manufactured in Belgium. The record includes a download card and is designed as a collectible physical edition for fans of the project.

“I love vinyl,” he said. “When the album is finished you want something physical, something that feels like closure for the project. Going to the pressing plant in Belgium and seeing how they make them was a really cool experience.”

Fans can find the album, vinyl edition and further details about the project through Timelord’s website and social channels.
