Led by brothers Brian and Michael D'Addario, The Lemon Twigs have spent the past decade building a sound that draws heavily on classic pop and rock while refusing to simply recreate it.
They arrive in Luxembourg with their latest album, Look For Your Mind!, released in May, and a bigger, more collaborative approach to the band's trademark harmonies and guitar pop.
The Lemon Twigs emerged from Long Island, New York, with Brian and Michael D'Addario at the heart of the band.
Both brothers are multi-instrumentalists and songwriters, and their music wears its influences proudly. There's plenty of 1960s and 70s pop, glam and power pop in the mix, with elaborate vocal harmonies and arrangements that can bring to mind everyone from The Beach Boys and The Beatles to Big Star and Todd Rundgren.
Their debut album, Do Hollywood, arrived in 2016, introducing a band with an obvious love of the past but plenty of ideas of their own.
Albums including Go to School, Songs for the General Public, Everything Harmony and A Dream Is All We Know followed as the brothers continued to refine their songwriting and increasingly harmony-heavy sound.
Their latest record, Look For Your Mind!, arrived on Captured Tracks on May 8th and sees The Lemon Twigs expand beyond the brothers themselves, bringing more of their touring band into the recording process.
The result retains the bright melodies and vocal harmonies that have become central to the band's sound, but with a looser feel and a little more tension beneath the surface.
It's also very much a full-band record. The album credits include contributions from touring musicians Eva Chambers, Reza Matin and Danny Ayala alongside Brian and Michael, as well as a wider cast adding strings, horns and woodwind to the arrangements.
That expanded sound now comes to the stage, with Luxembourg sitting in the middle of an extensive European tour that takes the band from Brussels and Berlin through Italy, France, Spain and Portugal.
Belgian band Coup Dur will open the night at den Atelier.
We've got tickets to give away to see The Lemon Twigs at den Atelier on Saturday, October 10th.
