Train traffic on the route between Toulon and Nice, in the south of France, was interrupted in both directions, said firefighters and SNCF, the state-owned railway company.
“For a reason to be determined, a young girl with a scooter was hit by a TGV (direction Toulon Nice) on the railway,” said the firefighters.
“She died instantly,” a spokeswoman told AFP.
