As of July 2022, women in national parliaments across the EU held 32.7% of all seats, a slight margin above the world average of just 26.4%.
Only three countries in the world boasted a majority of women in their parliaments. Rwanda has the largest majority, with 61.3% of parliamentary seats occupied by women. Rwanda is closely followed by Cuba and Nicaragua who have 53.4% and 51.7% respectively.
Additionally, both Mexico and the United Arab Emirates have 50% of their parliamentary seats filled by women.

The pendulum also swings in the other direction, with Papua New Guinea and Vanuatu in Oceania and Yemen in Western Asia having zero women seated within their national parliaments.
