The Belgian theme park unveiled its plans for the year 2030 on Monday. The popular Loup-Garou wooden coaster, one of the park's main attractions, will close at the start of 2027, to be replaced by a new area called Festival World, anchored by a spectacular hybrid roller coaster with a New Orleans theme.
The theme park's director Jean-Christophe Parent said that the Kondaa had grown into an iconic attraction at the park since 2021, and that while the Loup-Garou remained one of the most popular rides, Walibi needed a second flagship ride, which it would deliver by replacing it. The exact budget for the project, which is set to open in 2028 and be completed by 2030, has not yet been disclosed, but he disclosed it would certainly exceed the €35 million invested in the new Dock World, which opened in 2025.
The new coaster is planned to stand 49 metres tall, 18 metres higher than the Loup-Garou, reaching speeds of up to 106 km/h over a length of 1,231 metres, which would be a record for the Benelux region. It will feature a 47-metre drop at an 89-degree angle, alongside three other unique elements. Beyond the coaster, Festival World will also include several smaller attractions for younger visitors and a new restaurant.
