Concerns over the occupancy rate of intensive care beds, the positive number of virological tests and the incidence rate per 100,000 inhabitants were raised on 22 July.

Two departments in the region have since been placed in “moderate vulnerability” by the health authorities: the Vosges and the Bas-Rhin.
This is due to an incidence rate which fell above the vigilance threshold, set at 10 positive cases per 100,000 inhabitants. Mayenne, Finistère, Val d’Oise, Paris and Seine-Saint-Denis are also departments which have been classified as “vulnerable”.

France, like its neighbouring countries, is currently experiencing an increase in new infections and has recorded more than 1,000 new cases in 24 hours. Ten clusters have also been discovered in the past 24 hours.
