Following a fatal attack on a train conductor in a regional train in Rhineland-Palatinate, questions remain about the alleged attacker’s personal situation and motives.

Authorities in Zweibrücken are currently verifying whether the 26-year-old suspect is indeed a Luxembourg resident, as he claims. The investigation is being conducted in cooperation with Luxembourg police, but further details have not been released.

Investigators are also looking into why the suspect was on the train at the time of the attack, where he intended to travel, and whether he had recently crossed from Luxembourg or had been in Germany for a longer period.

Regarding potential motives, the suspect has so far exercised his right to remain silent and has not commented on the case.
