
A man armed with a knife attacked passersby in the southern city of Romans-sur-Isère on Saturday morning at 11am, killing two and injuring at least seven others.
The presumed attacker has been arrested. French media report that the man is roughly 32 or 33 years old, comes from Sudan but lives in Romans-sur-Isère. The motive of the attack remains unclear.
President Emanuel Macron expressed his condolences on Twitter.
