The incident, which occurred in the Far Rockaway neighborhood, also involved the suspect setting the home on fire. Police responding to the scene were attacked by the male suspect, resulting in the stabbing of two officers and the suspect being fatally shot by one of the injured officers.
The victims found at the scene included an 11-year-old girl who later died at the hospital, a 12-year-old boy, a 44-year-old woman, and a man in his 30s.
Another victim, a 61-year-old woman, was hospitalised with multiple stab wounds. The suspect, 39-year-old Courtney Gordon, had a history of domestic violence. The police are continuing their investigation, with the initial 911 caller currently being interviewed at the police station.
