
At 1am Saturday morning, four friends were bringing their night to a close in an apartment on Rue Kellermann.
According to the Républicain Lorrain, it was then that a fight erupted - presumably due to excessive noise - which escalated into a violent confrontation.
A 20-year-old man was badly injured and rendered unconscious. Emergency services arrived and tried to resuscitate him, but unfortunately he died of his injuries.
In the late afternoon the following day, Saturday 13 June, a man in his thirties turned himself in at Metz police station. Suspected of being involved in voluntary homicide, the man has been detained.
Departmental Security took over the investigation, and Nancy’s forensic institute will handle the autopsy.
