
The Luxembourgish Prime Minister underlined our close and friendly relationship with our neighbouring country. The Covid crisis had shown this once again, as the borders remained open, allowing French healthcare workers to continue working in Luxembourg’s hospitals, while we took in a number of French patients.
Now is the time to work on a common strategy to get us out of the crisis. This includes coordinating the green vaccine certificates between both countries, rather than waiting for the EU-wide certificate.
On Monday, Xavier Bettel welcomed the French secretary of state for digitisation at the Luxembourg embassy in Paris. He stressed the importance of certificates from the two countries being mutually accepted.
Finance minister Pierre Gramegna took part in an OECD meeting to discuss the economic impact of the pandemic. He estimates that the Luxembourgish economy will recover fairly quickly.
