Starting with Luxembourg

  • [block type="summary”]The latest figures from the Ministry of Health show that 255 new cases of coronavirus were discovered yesterday. Five further deaths from Covid-19 were reported today, meaning the total death toll in the Grand Duchy now stands at 755.

    And from abroad

    • It is becoming increasingly difficult to travel outside Luxembourg due to changes in anti-Covid measures adopted in various countries. But what are the new travel rules across Europe? Our colleagues at RTL 5minutes have looked into the possibilities, restrictions and obligations for Luxembourg residents who wish to travel for a few days.

    • Millions of Christians around the world were facing another Easter weekend under restrictions because of coronavirus surges. Italy began a strict Easter lockdown on Saturday, with the entire country considered a high-risk “red zone” during a time when families usually hold reunions.

    • Restrictions had been already intensified in other European nations such as Belgium. In Germany, the government scrapped plans for a strict Easter lockdown, but Chancellor Angela Merkel urged people to limit their social contacts ahead of the break.
    • [block type="summary”]It was better news from the hard-hit United States, as it became the first country to administer at least one shot to more than 100 million people -- around half of its adult population.
