Trier Police have warned on the increase of ‘travelling traders’ and craftsmen following a number of complaints in and around the German city.
The fraudsters offer customers their goods and services “on the doorstep”.
Due to there having been cases in the past where the agreed works have not been carried out properly and/or at inflated prices, the police advise:
Don’t rush into offers of non-contracted work
If you do have a person working for you, be sure to set a total price, do not agree on any subsequent offers
Price increases - check the quality of goods and work
