Drivers were all ears this weekend as they dusted off their costumes and flocked to the chain’s petrol stations across the country, where between 12.30pm and 1pm they could tip up their tanks for free.
Customers had to pay up front, then tag the brand on Instagram along with their outfit, upon which the company reimbursed them the same day. The limit stood at 50 litres per vehicle, however.
“This could become an expensive joke”, said the chain’s director Richard Fieten, speaking to regional media. “We have no idea what it could cost. We calculated how many people could refuel, how many pumps we have. And how much chaos it could generate. Because the more chaotic, the longer it will take.”
