
The accident occurred at around 5.10pm, a 30-year-old female pedestrian was hit by a car on a zebra crossing on Mustorstraße in in Trier. The incident resulted in serious injuries for the pedestrian, though they are not life threatening.
The driver was reportedly a 76-year-old man, and according to initial information from emergency services it remains unclear why he failed to stop.
Original reports from emergency services said that a group of three pedestrians had been hit, but this has since been rectified.
Another accident took place around 9.25pm on Saturday, also in Trier. A dark-coloured Audi driving in the direction of Kaiserthermen on Ostallee hit a pedestrian on the corner of Ostallee and Gartenfeldstrasse. The pedestrian was thrown several metres into the air, and sustained serious injury. The driver escaped the scene of the accident.
