“The number of registrations so far is a good indicator that, on the one hand, we have made good progress with vaccinations in Rheinland-Pfalz,” said Health Minister Clemens Hoch (SPD). “On the other hand, it also indicates the fact that people are also applying through family doctors and also through company doctors.”

Of the approximately 1.5 million vaccination doses expected to be delivered and administered throughout June, the 32 vaccination centers will only receive around a third of that total, with the lion’s share going to doctors’ surgeries and vaccine stocks remain scarce overall.

According to the Robert Koch Institute, 44.5 percent of people in Rheinland-Pfalz had reeceived at least one vaccine dose by Monday 7 June - slightly less than the national average (46.0).

The total of those completely vaccinated, however, is only at 22.2 percent, a little more than the national average (21.9).
