In Rhineland-Palatinate only one new coronavirus infection was reported on Tuesday.

As a result, the number of confirmed infections rose to 6,700 according to the Ministry of Health in Mainz on Tuesday.

The number of deaths linked to COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic at the end of February remained unchanged at 230.

Currently, 224 people have been confirmed as COVID-positive, 22 fewer than the day before.

6,246 people are considered to have recovered, 23 more than on Pentecost Monday.

The highest rate of confirmed cases remains in the city of Mainz, with 23 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants recorded in the past seven days.

This is followed by the city of Worms with eleven cases and the district of Bernkastel-Wittlich with seven.
