
COVID ISOLATION - Yesterday, the governing council decided on new Covid measures that will apply until the end of March next year. Many details have not yet been mentioned, but there are some changes. If you have a positive PCR test, you no longer need to isolate yourself for 7, but only 4 days and you no longer have to stay at home. The government has also approved the second booster vaccine, according to which people over 60 should receive a second booster as well as anyone who has an existing health condition. It is also recommended for anyone over 65 to get a vaccination against shingles.
COVID CASES UP - The number of Covid cases has doubled in the last 24 hours. The latest figures from the Ministry of Health show that 801 cases have been discovered, yielding a positivity rate of close to 34%.
HOME EXPO - Home Expo, a fair dedicated to housing, construction, renovation, furnishing and decoration opens today alongside the Climate Expo, which will showcase energy efficiency and climate friendliness. EUROPE SUMMIT - Today is a historic day in Prague. For the first time, the new “European Political Community” will come together at a summit. More than 40 heads of state and government are represented. In addition to the EU, also almost all neighboring countries - Switzerland, the UK, Turkey, the Western Balkan states, and also Ukraine. Three subjects dominate: the Ukrainian war, the related energy crisis and climate change. The outcome of the summit is uncertain, but it has been billed as an exchange of ideas and for increased coordination. Above all, solidarity should be demonstrated against Russia and Belarus, both of whom are not invited.
UKRAINE GAINS - Kyiv has claimed further victories over Russian troops in eastern Ukraine while President Putin has signed the final papers to annex four regions of Ukraine. President Zelensky, in his nightly video address said that Ukraine has liberated three more villages in the southern region of Kherson.
NORTH KOREA MISSILES - North Korea has fired two ballistic missiles today – the sixth such banned launch in less than two weeks. Pyongyang described its recent blitz as “just counteraction measures” to joint US and South Korean military drills. On Tuesday Pyongyang fired a missile over Japan, prompting the US to call an emergency UN Security Council meeting.
FOOTBALL CHAMPIONS LEAGUE - Defending champion Real Madrid already has one leg in the 8th final, after yesterday’s 2-1 victory against Donetsk. Just like Manchester City, who won 5-0 against Copenhagen, and also have a perfect 9 points on their account.
