Some 9,470 Luxembourgers are reported to be living in Rheinland-Pfalz (Rhineland-Palatinate) as of date collected in 2019, by the State Statistical Office in Bad Ems.
In 2009 there were only 4,906 Luxembourgers opting to live in the German state.
The number of French living in RLP also rose, from 7,482 to 8,375.
Just like Luxembourg and France, Belgium also lies on the Pfalz border - the number of Belgians living here was 1,685 in 2009 and is now some 2,480 ten years later.
Unsurprisingly, many Luxembourgers have moved to border regions due to lower property prices and continue to work in the world’s only Grand Duchy.
Rheinland-Pfalz has a population of almost 4.1 million.
