The prefect of the Moselle region, along with the mayor’s office, have decided to implement the new restrictions from Thursday 10 September.
The decision has been taken following a ‘rapid deterioration of the sanitary situation’ in Metz. Coronavirus infections have passed the threshold of 50 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, standing at 52.4 over the last seven days.
Masks will therefore be mandatory in the city centre for all persons aged 11 and over:
Exemptions are in place for exercise and artistic activities.
