A 24-year-old mare was found dead in a park near Épinal. She was discovered by her owner on Monday.
As Vosges Matin reported, although the age of the animal and its respiratory problems could have explained her death, several suspicious elements do not fit in with a natural death.
According to the newspaper, which describes these acts as “unspeakable”, the mare had an object several centimetres deep in her vagina. There is no indication that she could have suffered such an injury by accident. Her flank was also marked by lesions, the nature and origin of which have not been specified.
Vosges Matin indicates that the owner of the mare has lodged a complaint.
