In Baden-Württemberg, the Green Party led by the state’s current Minister-President Winfried Kretschmann ended up winning 32.6% of votes.
Meanwhile, the SPD’s Malu Dreyer, the current Minister-President of Rhineland-Palatinate, led her party to victory by gathering 35.7% of all votes.
The right-wing Alternative for Germany (AfD) significantly lost in popularity, coming in at a mere 9.7% in Baden-Württemberg (down 5.4% compared to the 2016 elections) and 8.3% in Rhineland-Pfalz (down 4.3%).
