A 32-year-old woman from Luxembourg was driving downhill towards the city, transitioning from the Bitburger Straße (B51) to the Kaiser-Wilhelm-Brücke. Coming from the direction of the University of Applied Sciences, she attempted to change into the left lane to continue into the city. However, while using her mobile phone, she veered back into the right lane and collided with another vehicle.

Although both vehicles were damaged, no injuries were reported. At the scene, police noticed signs suggesting the driver might be intoxicated. An alcohol test confirmed this, revealing a blood alcohol level of 2.95 per mille.

As a result, the woman’s driving licence was temporarily revoked. Authorities stated it would remain confiscated “for at least a few months”.
