New DelhiIndia's healthcare system struggles with high numbers of Covid-19 cases

RTL Today
With the current number of confirmed cases at 320,922, India has the fourth-highest tally in the world - after the US, Brazil and Russia.

New Delhi has been hit particularly hard as estimates reckon roughly 80,000 hospital beds will be needed by the end of July.

The Indian media reports that many people are dying because they are unable to access healthcare in time.

Official records currently count over a thousand new infections every day, with over 300,000 confirmed cases and a death toll of about 9,000.

Experts however doubt these figures and suspect a much higher infection and death rate.
